Faculty or Staff Password Problems

There are two password categories: 1.) email (RavenMail) and 2.) network password which is used for everything else (AccessAU, Canvas, printing, etc.).

Ravenmail passwords do not expire.  The only circumstance where you would be asked to change your email password is if you call us to reset your email password.  We set it as  temporary so you can reset it to what you want.  Only new accounts or ITS reset accounts will be asked to change their email password.  It is a good idea to voluntarily change your email password periodically.  Click here for instructions on changing email password.

All other passwords are linked to a single authentication service.  You will have one password for everything other than email.  Canvas, AccessAU, printing, etc. use this linked password.  This password expires 180 days after the last reset.  You can change it beforethe 180 days; but if you do nothing, it will expire on the 180th day.  Once it expires, you will be unable to log in to the network resources used by all students. 

To change your network (linked) password, go to http://MyAU.anderson.edu.  After entering your username and a captcha code, you will receive and email with a link to change your password. Once you make the password change, wait a minute or so before you try to login again.

Your password must meet the following requirements:

~It must be at least 8 characters long

~It must contain one uppercase letter, one lower case letter, and one number

~It CANNOT contain any part of your username or your first name

~It cannot be the same as your last 8 passwordsIt must have at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, at least one number, and be a minimum of eight characters long. You cannot reuse a password 

If, after changing your password, you still cannot log in, it could be that your account has “locked” due to too many unsuccessful attempts. This is a security feature. To get your account unlocked, please contact the ITS Help Desk.
